The Young At Heart Ministry was founded by Murray Hill United Methodist Church member Mary Walker about 35 years ago.
Her idea was to create a program whereby church members and community residents could gather for an informative program, a light lunch, and fellowship.
The one stipulation she made was that programs had to be educational, spiritual and entertaining.
That light lunch has grown into large lunch buffet of multiple covered dishes of salads, vegetables, specialty dishes, fruits and, deserts plus a fee of $3.00 for the main entree. Programs and guest speakers have been and continue to be varied, covering all areas of interest to members, including history, politics, musical, whimsical, Ministerial, and militarily to name just a few.
