At Murray Hill United Methodist Church, the safety and well-being of our congregation, guests, and staff are of the utmost importance. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming, peaceful environment where all people can worship and gather without fear or concern. To support this commitment, Murray Hill United Methodist Church has a No Open Carry Policy in accordance with Florida law. This policy applies to all individuals while on church property and is enforced consistently and respectfully.
Open Carry Policy
Pursuant to Florida Statute Section 790.06(13), the carrying of any weapon by any person onto the property of Murray Hill United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, Florida, is strictly prohibited. If an individual arrives while openly carrying a firearm, they will be respectfully asked to either conceal the firearm in compliance with the law or secure it safely in their vehicle before joining any church activities or services.
This policy was approved by the Guide Team of Murray Hill United Methodist Church on December 3, 2025. Our Safe Team is trained to address these situations with care, discretion, and respect, always prioritizing safety while maintaining the welcoming spirit of our church.
