- Rev. Dr. Silas M’Mworia the lead Pastor was born and raised in Meru, Kenya. Silas earned his 1st degree in Mathematics and physics from the University of Nairobi Kenya; Master of Divinity from Methodist Theological school in Ohio; Master of Theology, and PhD degrees from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. Silas was ordained an elder in the Kenyan Conference in 1991 and later transferred his ordination to The Florida Conference. He has served numerous pastoral appointments in Kenya, and he was the pioneer Chaplain at Moi University Eldoret Kenya. Prior to transferring to the Florida Conference, Rev. M’Mworia served in West Ohio and Greater New Jersey Conferences of the United Methodist church respectively. Before coming to Murry Hill UMC, he had served at Bartley Temple UMC Gainesville Florida, and Stewart Memorial UMC Daytona Beach Florida for a total of 13 years. Silas is married to Damaris and together they are blessed with three children, Grace, Shirley, and Praise.
